Upheld: God’s Goodness to the Depressed, Discouraged, and Doubtful

Psalm 145:14 “The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.”

Over the past decade I have struggled through chronic pain, prolonged time periods of exhaustion, cancer, and the discouragement, doubt, and depression that can often accompany long seasons of trials. I also endured two debilitating pregnancies and have fought to keep up on life as a mom while often feeling trapped in the body of a much older woman.

I have experienced that despite my many struggles, and all of the sins that have boiled to the surface in times of trouble, God has remained good and faithful. Through this book I hope to use my story as well as God’s word to “encourage the faint-hearted” and “help the weak” (1Thessalonians 5:14).

I can truly say “If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up” (Psalm 94:17-189

My hope for this book is that even in the middle of heartache and confusion, believers in Christ would be able to see that He is strong, and willing to carry the weakest of hearts through the storm.
