Does sin tire you out? I mean really? Do you know what it feels like to groan along with creation “as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies” (Romans 8:23)? You go out in the world and everywhere is sin. It’s in your ears, it’s in your view; you aren’t looking for it but it is looking for you. Do you relate? I become so weary and tired of sin.
It’s not only out there, it’s within. And this I find to be even more tiresome. How much I relate to the apostle Paul who said “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing (Romans 8:18-19).” Your words tumble out of a tongue that seems set on fire by hell, your motives get skewed, your excuses get wimpy, and you say you want to make changes but a little laziness just seems to take over. Your desires are lacking, your passion is up and down, and your appetite for the Word of God is much weaker than it should be. You know the good you ought to do but do not do it and sin. It’s me. How I want to change. How I want to be more like Jesus Christ.
And sometimes, sincere Christian, it can just be so discouraging. But here in the same scripture that I saught out to find the apostle Paul relating to my weary state, I found great encouragement that I would like to share.
You come to times like Paul where you just cry out “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me form this body of death (Romans 7:24).” But then the answer that relieves me soul: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).” There’s alot more theologically to be said here but it’s late and I need to keep it simple. There is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
I read this and I find strength to battle sin. I am fighting a battle which Jesus Christ has already won. He has already put my sin to death in His own body, and He grants all power by His Spirit to combat the sins of my flesh to the death. “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (Romans 8:13).”
I am weary with sin, within and without and I pray Christ will enable me to battle it. I think we Christians must be more serious about waging war agains sin, and this I pray Lord please help me to do! And in this GREAT hope I close, that our adoption and redemption is coming, and is certain for all who hope in Jesus, and yes that NOTHING “will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:39).” Praise Christ the King!

So true, I can get very wearied with my sin. I need to remind myself to keep looking up and out. I like your comment "I am fighting a battle which Jesus Christ has already won." He is so faithful in keeping His covenant with us....how can we be anything but thankful! We serve a awesome God, what a priviledge!
